the
Clarifying Climber Robot
Clarifying
Technologies is proud to offer the Clarifying Climber - a revolutionary,
new remote controlled (R/C) robot. The Climber easily scales many
smooth and uneven vertical surfaces wall board, plaster,
brick, cinder block, and siding are negotiable for this versatile
robot. It can even go across sturdy ceilings if placed there first
although it can transition from a horizontal (ground)
surface to a vertical one, and back, it can not go from a vertical
to an inverted surface or directly around corners unassisted.

Operating
the Climber is as simple as driving an R/C car. Simply use the handset's
joystick to go forward, backward, and turn/rotate. A slider control
sets the amount of attraction to the surface - weaker for easy surfaces
and stronger for challenging ones.
Unlike
other robots, Climber does not use suction cups to adhere and climb;
instead, it uses patented VRAM technology from Vortex HC, LLC (formerly
Avionic Instruments) to pull itself to surfaces (US and international
patents apply). By combining the VRAM with a versatile multi-wheeled
posi-traction drive train, the robot can travel and maneuver on horizontal,
vertical, and even inverted surfaces with ease. The nature of the
vortex effect also makes it forgiving of changing surface types.

The VRAM
and drive train were designed to be powerful enough to handle an extra
1 lb. (0.45 kg) or more of payload (depending on mission profile),
so you can transport additional devices, such as video cameras and
transmitters.
The
included rechargeable lithium polymer battery pack powers the Climber
for approximately 45-60 minutes of combined travel and station-keeping
with its (optional) video camera and transmitter payload. Longer mission
times can be obtained by simply adding additional battery packs (which
do count against the payload allowance).
The
Climber robot is both compact and lightweight.
The remote
controller, batteries, charger, and spare components come included.
All these
features make the Climber extremely useful for various tasks, such
as:
Routine inspection of buildings, ships, containers, and hard-to-reach
places
Inspection of hazardous areas, such as nuclear containment domes
Transport of small items to hard-to-reach or hazardous locations

Static
Attractor
Clarifying
Technologies also offers another device based on the principles used
in the Climber robot - a vortex-powered multi-surface attachment device
called the Static Attractor. It will hold nearly a pound of weight
(0.4 kg) on practically any surface for up to 40 minutes. Simply place
it against the surface, flick the switch and it holds tightly.
